The author of this poem was the older brother of Ralph Chubb. This, his first publication, was issued in an edition of 27 copies, and was illustrated with his own woodblock images. This edition was the first to be completed on the hand press that Lawrence constructed for his younger brother and the woodblocks were intended to inspire Ralph to pursue the craft himself. A very good example of this uncommon work, sewn in brown wrappers, a little foxing throughout. Author's initials on front endpaper. Bookplates of Anthony Reid (after Chubb) and David Chambers.
