The rare first edition proofs of this autobiographical novel by François Augiéras is a record kept while he was a shepherd in the Sahara in the 1950s. He writes of nomadism and homosexuality and his rejection of Judeo-Christian religion and morality. These printed proofs are each stapled and the two volumes are joined together. Exceptional copies with numerous corrections by the author and numerous passages censored in black felt-tip pen on colored paper. Included are 5 original photographs the size of the book (18.5 x 10.5 cm) depicting Augiéras with the rifle he rarely left behind and which is mentioned in the work. Also included is an autograph letter from the publisher, Pierre Fanlac, providing information about the author.
