Tagebuch einer männlichen Braut. Die Geschichte eines Doppelwesens
Berlin: D. Dreyer (1907).
Item #9163
"Diary of a Male Bride. The Story of a Dual Being" was edited and self-published by Walter Homann and is a pioneering German sexual-scientific narrative detailing the life of "Dori," a person assigned male at birth who lived and worked as a woman. The novel had some notoriety and was later placed on the Nazis' infamous "Black List" and was routinely burned. Based partially on the case of Comtesse Dina Alma de Paradeda (1871–1906), the text explores the complexities of gender identity, social prejudices, and challenging encounters with medical professionals. Exceedingly rare, with only one institutional copy identified. Very good in patterned wrappers, a few pages roughly opened, mild edge wear.
