The first edition of one of the fundamental works of LGBT literature in Latin America, which won the Juan Grijalbo Novel Prize when published.
Its publication sparked a scandal due to its homosexual content. Prestigious writers attacked the book and some demanded that the book could only be sold in black bags to prevent people from leafing through what was considered a “pornographic” text.
Today The Vampire of the Roma Colony is considered a classic work in Mexican and Latin American gay literature. A very nice copy in original decorative wrappers. Uncommon.
