The Young & the Evil. The first edition of the controversial gay novel, which focused on bohemian life in Greenwich Village in the late twenties and early thirties. Championed by Gertrude Stein and Djuna Barnes (who contributed blurbs for the jacket), the book was published by Jack Kahane's Obelisk Press after it was rejected elsewhere.
